TestMasters LSAT Course Reviews
Katherine Mitchell | University of Richmond | Before TestMasters 162 | After TestMasters 175 |
“I cannot recommend TestMasters enough. I heard about the course from a friend who was urged to choose TestMasters over other test prep companies by her college’s pre-law advisors. I had attempted to study on my own and was scheduled to take the test, but I was disappointed that I kept scoring in the low 160s with no sign of improvement. At the last minute, I decided to postpone taking the LSAT and signed up for the course. One of the main reasons I took the class was to take diagnostics under official test-taking conditions, but I got so much more out of it than that. My instructor, Matt Mutino, was the best! He addressed every question we had while keeping the pace fast enough to be interesting, and he made the class fun. By going to every meeting and doing the homework, I was able to increase my score to a 175, even with a full-time job. I work at a law firm and even my bosses were impressed! I actually did better on the real LSAT than I had done on my last couple diagnostics, and that was due to the confidence I gained from taking TestMasters.”

“I recommend TestMasters completely. The course was very engaging and beneficial and the way it was taught made going to class enjoyable. For example, the way the books were organized and divided made it easy to compartmentalize the tools to solve each type of question and made the information easier to manage. The homework questions were extremely helpful because they were all from real exams. The diagnostics helped with timing, and mental preparation for test day. TestMasters is the best in LSAT preparation.”

“I first heard about TestMasters through a friend who took the class and scored a 165. Her recommendation plus the results she got were enough for me to consider signing up. I had recently graduated from graduate school and took the summer off before starting work. I studied business in undergrad and graduate school and wanted to do something to ensure I got the best score I was capable of (so that I would only have to take the test once). I purchased two different LSAT books but without the classroom environment, self-study proved futile. I spoke with a different friend who took a LSAT class with Kaplan, and while she was happy with the class, she wasn’t satisfied with her score.
I visited the TestMasters website and saw that there was a class offered in my area. I registered for the class and looked forward to receiving my study materials in the mail. I took the first practice test with very little preparation and scored a 156, Shannon (our instructor) also took the time to explain the LSAT, how it factors into your application to law school, and what we needed to do as students to get the most out of the class.
TestMasters is definitely a question-based class, by the end of the course you’ve seen every type of question you might see on the LSAT and you have enough practice to know how to approach the question, how to answer the question, how to recognize a right answer and how to recognize a wrong answer. At first all the questions seem overwhelming, but Shannon provided a system for us to see every type of question even if we couldn’t complete all the homework in-between classes.
TestMasters’ diagnostic scoring is very helpful. In addition to knowing what score you would have received on the real LSAT and seeing which questions you got right and wrong, you also get a detailed report showing how you did on each specific question type. These reports allowed me to focus on my weakest section (logic games) as my test date approached.
I scored my highest on the final practice test, a 167. On the December 2013 LSAT I got a 165. There is no way I would’ve been able to achieve that without TestMasters!”

“Taking that first practice test is always something of a wake-up call. You think you’re super smart going in, only to find out you could not only do better, but much better. I felt that way, but TestMasters provides an exhaustive and complete approach to attacking the LSAT. They pride themselves on teaching you not just the “tricks” or rules, but will delineate several different question types for you to study and learn. I took the online class, another component that terrified me, but with a full-time job there didn’t seem to be much choice. Well, the course requires perhaps a little personal discipline, but if you don’t do well it certainly won’t be for lack of trying. TestMasters gives you everything you need to succeed. Questions from all previous LSATs and detailed statistics pinpoint your weaknesses in an instant. I owe my score to TestMasters…it really was worth the effort, time, cost, and occasional headache.”
